POSITION: LA 4 Youth Lead Organizer
The Youth Justice Coalition LA 4 Youth Lead Organizer will work to coordinate campaigns that advance youth justice work in the county and city of Los Angeles. They will serve as a Coordinator on behalf of YJC in the Los Angeles Youth Uprising Coalition with our partners in this work. They will also sustain and build relationships with community partner organizations, county and city officials, and youth leaders.
JOB POSITION SUMMARY:
The LA 4 Youth Lead Organizer will organize YJC members and communities to build a base of system impacted young people and their families. The campaign focus for this position is to support the implementation of Youth Justice Reimagined, and launch of the LA County Department of Youth Development with greater accountability to impacted youth. The vision towards our long term goal of abolishing youth incarceration in LA County and freeing all young people from probation supervision and custody.

COMPENSATION:
Salary: $70,000 / annual (based on experience)
Expected Hours of Work: 40 hours / weekly
Classification: Full Time Position
Reports To: The LOBOS Organizing Director.
Period of Employment: 12 months
Benefits: Medical, dental, vacation
Evaluation: At the end of the first 3 months, and at end of 6 months
Evaluation: At the end of month 1, month 3 and then annual performance evaluations to follow.
