The YJC is a member-led organization. This was more fully adopted over the past two years as the YJC transitioned to a 501(c)(3) organization with a member-elected Board of Directors. Youth members, LOBOS, family leaders, organizational members/allies and staff all elect representatives to the Board for two-year terms. The Board is required to have 61 percent system-involved youth as members, and a youth and adult Co-Chairperson, as well as a Treasurer and Secretary. The Board elects its officers.
