LA For Youth – 1% Campaign

LA 4 Youth Post CardThe “LA For Youth” Campaign is uniting youth, our families, teachers, youth workers and community interventionists to create a strong , innovative and sustainable Youth Development plan for L.A. City and County that will fund, advocate for and support youth jobs, intervention workers/peacebuilders in our streets and schools, and youth centers open year-round from 3pm to midnight.
Just 1% of Los Angeles County’s Law Enforcement budget (LAPD, LA County Sheriff, Probation Department, courts, LA City Attorney, and County District Attorney  = $100 Million a year!
$100 Million would fund 25,000 Youth Jobs + 50 Youth Centers + 500 full-time Community Intervention/Peacebuilders.
IMAGINE.  WE CAN PRIORITIZE YOUTH OPPORTUNITIES OVER YOUTH CAGES!
Meetings are held at the Chuco’s Justice Center, 1137 East Redondo Blvd., on the corner of West and Redondo, one light west of Florence and Crenshaw on the border of South Central L.A. and Inglewood.
