Reflections from YJC Organizer LOBOS and #BlackLivesMatter Long Beach Diwaine Smith:
“Thoughts of blood shed from the bodies of Murder victims of violence. Thinking of the anger that led to the killings. Was it justified? And if so, how sane is the human being who gave the murder justification? Yes death is guaranteed to all but murder is an action with no true clarification. As we watch the human race be wiped out by other humans how long do we stay silent? Because if you don’t speak up or do something about “murder” than you my friend are saying it’s ok if someone murders you. Yes, anger is an justified emotion but the actions that follows after that effects us as a generation. We glorify murder as if we think it’s a way of life but taking someone from our world is a moral insult to our very existence. It’s a slap in our face. It’s not an action that was made to be apart of our intellectual wiring. So why do we love and/or except murder?”
