LOBOS Altar YJC dia de los muertos 2015
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3RD:
9:00AM MARCH TO LAPD HQ; 9:30AM POLICE COMMISSION MEETING

9AM – Leave from YJC / S.T.O.P. altar at Grand Park in front of Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration’s entrance to the park. March to LAPD HEADQUARTERS – 100 W. 1ST STREET, DOWNTOWN LA 90012. 9:30AMSpeak out at LA Police Commission meeting.
For the past 10 days, an altar remembering the (at least) 646 people killed by law enforcement in LA County since 2000 has sat in front of the giant doors leading from the County’s Hall of Administration out onto Grand Park as part of Self Help Graphics’ Dia de Los Muertos exhibition.  Every day since then, hundreds – maybe even thousands of people, including LA’s most powerful elected and law enforcement officials, have passed the altar and been forced to face the reality of police use of force resulting in homicide in LA County – #1 BY FAR in the nation. (The altar was built by the Youth Justice Coalition and S.T.O.P. Police Violence including YJC members shown here left to right – Juan Pena, Mario Rodriguez, Kim McGill, Robert Cristo and Nancy Flores.)

Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 3rd, please join us to move the altar from Grand Park to LAPD Headquarters in order to pressure the Police Commission to protect the youth and families they are sworn to represent.
WE CHARGE THE POLICE COMMISSION WITH: 1. FAILING TO PROTECT COMMUNITY
RESIDENTS; 2. FAILING TO INVESTIGATE POLICE USE OF FORCE AND MISCONDUCT; 3. FAILING TO
RELEASE DATA TO THE COMMUNITY ON POLICE STOPS AND USE OF FORCE; 4. FAILING TO LISTEN TO
AND WEIGH COMMUNITY RECOMMENDATIONS ON POLICE POLCIES AND PROCEDURES BEFORE
MAKING PROCESS, PROGRAM AND BUDGET DECISIONS FOR THE DEPARTMEMNT.
